This is a pilot service which is funded by the Scottish Government to support people to attend Employment Support Allowance Work Capability Assessments or Personal Independence Payment Medical Assessments. Advocacy can support people to attend on the day to help express their views and understand their rights in relation to the assessment part of the process. We can arrange office or home appointments to meet with clients beforehand to provide information in preparation for the assessment. This includes information on the type of questions the client may be asked on the day, the format of the assessment and an explanation on how the DWP scores these assessments.
