This Web site is operated and controlled on behalf of Glasgow's Advice and Information Network (GAIN) by Glasgow City Council, a local authority incorporated under the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 and having its chief office at City Chambers, George Square, Glasgow G2 1DU, United Kingdom.

Summary of terms

Browser
Used to locate and display Web pages via a software application. The most popular ones are Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.

Message given to a web browser by a Web server. The message is then stored by the browser in a text file called cookie.txt.
